I can deal with that using Mac Fan Control, and I hardly think it will be any heat issue for the HDD temperature since there is only one fan on the whole iMac. On the new hard drive it's not there, of course (even if the original is also a Seagate Barracuda). I ran into the thermal sensor/spinning fan issue because the original Apple HDD has a special firmware for the 27' late 2012. I went for a Seagate Barracuda (2016) 2TB 64 MB cache 3.5' HDD (ST2000DM006) which I fitted into the iMac 27' late 2012. Is anyone using a similar computer/configuration and came up with the perfect solution?
